Kramerius Project
In response to an increased worldwide interest in protecting books from the 19th century (printed largely on acidic paper and whose decomposition, in some documents, is unstoppable), NTK has taken part in the National Program for the Microfilm Conversion and Digital Presentation of Documents Endangered by Paper Acidity. This special project, entitled VISK 7 – Kramerius, involved the digitization of some of the Library's older materials, including The Chemical Papers for Science and Research (1929-1945 – 17 vol.) and Czech Mechanic (1886-1907 – 22 vol.). In total, sixteen volumes of documents from the 19th century have been preserved for open access use by future generations.
